From your admin portal, open Techs in the left nav, then click + Invite Tech at the top.
Three things you need:
- Their full name
- Their email address (where the invite goes)
- Their primary specialty — HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, etc. — or "all" if they're a generalist
You can also set their pay model (hourly / payment-link) and region at the same screen, but those can be edited later.
What happens when you click Invite
- TradelyHQ creates a row in
auth.userswith a temporary password - An email goes out via Resend with the temp password and a "click here to log in" link
- On their first login the tech is forced to set a real password before they can do anything else
- They land in the tech portal and immediately see any work orders already assigned to their email
The temp-password email is a real email — if it doesn't arrive within a minute, ask the tech to check spam. If it's still missing, your Resend integration may not be configured (contact support).
Limits
50 invites per tenant per rolling 24-hour window. If you need to onboard a larger crew at once, contact us — we'll lift the cap.
Removing a tech later
Same Techs screen, click the tech, then Remove. TradelyHQ deletes their auth.users row (so the email becomes available for re-invite) AND clears any WO assignments where they were primary or secondary tech — no orphaned references.
